Welcome Ushpizin - Seven Guests of the Sukkah
Welcome Ushpizin - Seven Guests of the Sukkah
Seven figures. Seven stories. Seven designs.
Welcome the Ushpizin into your sukkah with a contemporary piece of Jewish art designed around the stories of the seven symbolic guests.
Each night of Sukkot, we traditionally welcome one of seven great Jewish figures into our sukkah: Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, Moshe, Aharon, Yosef, and David.
We wanted to create something that celebrates that tradition while bringing a distinctly modern aesthetic to the sukkah.
Welcome Ushpizin is a set of seven dimensional panels, with each figure given a completely unique geometric design inspired by their story, legacy, or place in Jewish tradition.
Seven figures. Seven designs.
Avraham: A ten-sided geometric pattern representing the ten trials of Avraham, reflecting his faith, resilience, and devotion.
Yitzchak: Concentric diamond forms inspired by the wells that played an important role in Yitzchak's story.
Yaakov: An interconnected geometric weave representing the twelve tribes and Yaakov's role in connecting the generations of the Jewish people.
Moshe: Lofted triangular peaks evoking Mount Sinai and the revelation of the Torah.
Aharon: A geometric interpretation of the choshen, the breastplate of the Kohen Gadol.
Yosef: A wheat-inspired pattern reflecting Yosef's dreams and his role in sustaining Egypt through years of famine.
David: An interwoven star pattern inspired by David's enduring connection to the Jewish people and Jerusalem.
Together, the seven panels create a cohesive installation for your sukkah, while each individual piece has a story of its own.
Designed as Jewish art, not just sukkah décor.
Every panel was designed from the ground up rather than simply applying a different name to a common template. The geometric reliefs give the pieces depth and dimension, while the contrasting finishes make the patterns come alive as they catch the light.
The result is a collection that works on two levels: a meaningful way to welcome the Ushpizin, and a contemporary piece of Jewish design for your sukkah.
The panels are finished in navy matte with a silver silk face, giving the set a refined, understated look that works beautifully against the natural materials and fabrics of a sukkah.
The seven panels hang together from a single waxed cotton cord and can be easily taken down and stored to bring out again year after year.
